Onninen Sp. z o. o., a Warsaw‑based supplier of construction materials with about €200M in turnover, operates a 24/7 web shop and 33 outlets across five countries. Because the business runs round‑the‑clock and can expand to three shifts, planned maintenance and backups—previously requiring production windows—threatened costly downtime and customer disruption.

To eliminate downtime, Onninen deployed Vision Solutions’ iTERA Availability to replicate its IBM i ERP to a hot‑standby server with automated failover, and later added Double‑Take Availability for its Windows web store. The backup systems hold up‑to‑date copies of all data so nightly backups and batch jobs run on the secondary system, cutting production backup windows from about four hours to roughly 30 minutes, virtually eliminating planned downtime, minimizing operational interruption, and requiring only minimal daily administration.
