Nicholas & Company, a Salt Lake City–based broadline foodservice distributor with around 500 employees and a single 300,000 sq. ft. warehouse operating 24/7, needed to ensure continuous availability of its sales and warehouse management systems to guarantee on-time deliveries. With plans to host its website, email and VoIP in-house, the company sought a high-availability solution that would eliminate lengthy backup windows and provide a foundation for future disaster recovery.

The in-house IT team upgraded to IBM System i Model 525 servers (including a CBU backup unit) and installed iTERA HA for i5/OS.
