ISO Limited, a Mount Maunganui–based logistics and IT services provider supporting ports across New Zealand and Australia, needed to migrate 130+ virtual servers from VMware to Microsoft Hyper‑V to reduce licensing and operational costs while maintaining its 24x7 stevedoring and inventory systems. The biggest risk was that moving 11 business‑critical servers (holding 1.5 TB of data) could cause up to 24 hours of downtime—an outcome the company could not afford.

ISO used a trial and implementation of Double‑Take Move, guided by reseller ITNZ, to perform the cutover; the 11 key virtual machines were migrated with only about five minutes of planned outage. The migration avoided crippling downtime, paid for itself through licensing and training savings, and enabled ISO to consolidate into a Microsoft systems management environment for greater efficiency.
