Imtech ICT Austria, an IT solutions provider, needed to migrate three aging customer servers from a third‑party UK data center to its Vienna facility. The hardware was old and time was limited, physical shipment and reinstallation across borders weren’t viable, two servers had to be consolidated as virtual machines, and VMware vCenter Converter couldn’t be used because of partitioned disks.

Imtech used Vision Solutions’ Double‑Take Move to replicate entire servers remotely—performing two physical‑to‑virtual migrations onto a VMware host and one physical‑to‑physical migration (application and system replicated with Double‑Take, data copied with Robocopy). The solution eliminated the need to ship hardware, reduced migration time and cost, lowered dependence on the previous vendor, and proved easy to set up, leading Imtech to adopt Double‑Take for future moves.
