HCT Transportation, a Taipei-based logistics and e-commerce services provider with 3,000 employees, processes about 300,000 information transactions daily. As their environment grew to 20 Windows production servers and a 2TB database, offsite tape backups became too slow, error-prone, and unable to meet recovery-time needs for mission-critical systems.

HCT deployed Double-Take Availability in a P2V architecture, replicating the 20 physical servers to four VMware ESX hosts at a DR site, with automatic VM provisioning, byte-level real-time replication and heartbeat failover. The result: failovers now complete in about 20–30 minutes, data loss is eliminated, operations continue across physical and virtual environments, failover testing is simplified, and customer access remains uninterrupted while hardware requirements are reduced.
