Hampden Group, a London-based insurance services firm and major adviser to Lloyd’s members, needed to modernize its business continuity plan to meet Financial Services Authority requirements and changing business demands. Their tape-based approach with a 48-hour recovery window was no longer acceptable; they required real-time protection, support for both physical and virtual servers, faster recovery (under an hour), and simpler management with improved remote access for staff.
Working with Frontier Technology, Hampden implemented Frontier Continuity Service powered by Double-Take Availability to replicate ten critical servers (Exchange, BlackBerry, CRM, Citrix, file servers, etc.) in real time to a standby data center. Delivered as a subscription service with testing, monitoring and no capital outlay, the solution met FSA requirements, reduced the recovery time objective to under 30 minutes, provided continuous data protection, cut IT management overhead and enabled greater staff flexibility.
