Chandler Concrete Company, a North Carolina–based ready-mix concrete and building supply firm founded in 1946, needed to modernize its disaster recovery plan to protect a critical dispatch and SQL-based COMMANDconcrete system that manages 35 locations. Facing long restore times and data loss risk from a tape-only strategy, IT leadership wanted a solution that would restore business-critical applications within an hour instead of days.

Chandler deployed Double-Take replication and failover with Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V on Dell servers to replicate virtual machines and the SQL database in real time. The new solution enabled failover and recovery in minutes (reducing potential recovery from 48+ hours to about an hour or less), improved uptime and staff productivity, and provided a cost-effective, future-ready DR capability within budget.
