Blick Rothenberg is a leading independent chartered accountancy firm in Central London that faced a growing risk from rapidly increasing data volumes. Their existing tape- and snapshot-based disaster recovery approach threatened to push full system restore times beyond acceptable business-continuity windows, so the IT team sought a cost-effective solution to keep recovery times within plan and reduce reliance on tape.

They implemented Vision Solutions’ Double-Take Availability (with Virtual Recovery Assistant) to provide real-time disk-to-disk replication to a secondary site on VMware/Dell infrastructure, selectively replicating only critical data and using built-in WAN optimization. The change automated VM provisioning, cut full recovery to about four–five hours, enabled faster restores in line with business objectives, supported office and remote workers from the DR site, and passed scheduled failover tests.
