Barona Resort & Casino, a 400-room gaming and resort property in Lakeside, California, wanted to offer Club Barona members a web-based Player’s Lounge to view points and account information. The challenge was strict gaming security: no outside systems could access or change production databases, yet the Lounge needed timely, near-real-time account data so guests could see recent activity shortly after leaving the property.

Barona deployed Vision Solutions’ Double-Take Share to replicate required IBM i and SQL Server data one-way through an inner firewall to a dedicated Player’s Lounge SQL Server, with replication processes running on separate Windows-based systems to minimize load. The result: members can view accounts and submit updates (address changes are manually verified before applying to production), web users cannot access or modify production data, updates arrive in near real time, and the solution requires minimal ongoing administration.
