Bank Sinar Harapan Bali, a regional bank with 93 branches and about 1,110 employees, faced an urgent availability challenge: nightly tape backups left up to 24 hours of transactions unprotected and recovery from tape was slow and risky for its IBM i–based Wincore core banking system. The bank needed a disaster recovery/high-availability solution that would eliminate data-loss windows and minimize downtime for both unplanned outages and planned maintenance.
