Tampa Electric powers 2 MW solar project with Vision InfoSoft

Tampa Electric, a utility company, undertook a major solar panel installation project at Tampa International Airport. The challenge was to successfully complete this complex $6 million, 2-megawatt project, which required intricate electrical and structural work, while managing a tight timeline that required a severe acceleration of the electrical portion. For this project, they worked with Vision InfoSoft and utilized its Electrical Bid Manager (EBM) software.

Vision InfoSoft's EBM software was used to create a detailed, task-integrated estimate that was crucial for scheduling, tracking labor, and managing subcontractor budgets. This allowed the project team to model scenarios and find a solution to complete the electrical work on time. The result was the successful completion of Tampa Electric's largest solar installation to date, which produces enough electricity to power 250 homes and provides an environmental benefit equivalent to removing 350 cars from the road.
