Wayfair, a global e-commerce home retailer with roughly 16,000 employees, faced rapid pandemic-driven demand while shifting to remote and hybrid work. The company needed better visibility into employee engagement, diversity, performance equity and retention risks so leaders could maintain business continuity, ensure inclusivity, and make data-driven talent decisions.
Led by Emily Yu, Wayfair’s people analytics team upgraded engagement dashboards, gave leaders customized DEI views, and ran recurring performance and pay-equity analyses. They formed a Performance Equity Taskforce, introduced third-party review options and talent monitors in calibration sessions, and deployed Visier to scale insights—resulting in targeted local DEI investments, clearer governance around performance equity, and practical interventions to address retention and bias.
