Providence People Analytics Elevates Workforce Conversations

Providence, a U.S. health system of 52 hospitals, 1,000+ clinics and roughly 116,000 caregivers, faced fractured HR data after a major merger: multiple core HR systems, poor data integrity, low accessibility and limited trust made evidence-based workforce decision‑making difficult and costly. Leadership needed a scalable way to align metrics, reduce maintenance overhead and create a single source of truth for people and business outcomes.

Providence implemented Visier as its people analytics platform, rolling it out in rapid waves with targeted training and strong partnership with Finance to build adoption and governance. The platform now serves ~13,000 users, enabled sunsetting legacy systems while preserving history, and improved time-to-insight and metric consistency—internal NPS rose from -43 to +50—and is being used to tackle turnover, leader effectiveness and workforce spend optimization.
