Case Study: Sabre lowers regrettable attrition to 7.5% with Visier People predictive analytics

A Visier Case Study

Preview of the Sabre Case Study

Lowering Attrition Rates with Predictive Analytics

Sabre, a leading technology provider for the global travel industry, faced rising regrettable attrition among high-potential employees as a result of constant hiring and downsizing cycles — regrettable attrition climbed from 5% to 9% between July 2017 and March 2018, with technical roles (notably developers in Krakow) most affected.

Using Visier People® Talent, Sabre analyzed lagging indicators (team makeup, skills, tenure, comp ratios) alongside predictive analytics and performance ratings to identify roughly 220 high performers with >15% exit risk. They implemented tailored engagement plans — career conversations, compa‑ratio reviews, and more one‑on‑one manager time supported by HRBPs and talent managers — and learned that intentional manager engagement outweighed financial incentives. Regrettable attrition fell from 9% to 7.5%, with ongoing efforts to return to the 5% baseline.
