Axis provides a safe haven for Cape Quarter Extension shoppers

Cape Quarter, a shopping mall in Cape Town, sought a discreet and fail-safe surveillance solution to ensure the safety and security of its patrons and tenants in its architecturally significant environment. Security consultant Nigel Versfeld of Diversified Security Engineering, with assistance from vendor Visec's CEO Gary Scagell, helped draft the tender, specifying Axis network cameras as the preferred product for the project.

The solution was implemented by installer MeyCom using Visec's Platinum Plus Management Software to monitor a network of Axis dome cameras, covering all internal and external areas. Visec, along with the other partners, ensured full integration of alarms and network configuration. The result is a comprehensive surveillance system that allows security personnel to effectively monitor and respond to incidents, maintaining a safe environment for shoppers and protecting property, with the investment paying off in crime prevention.
