Cannon School Robotics Team Empowering the visually impaired with face analysis technology

The robotics team at Cannon School collaborated with Visage Technologies for their 'Masterpiece' innovation project. Their challenge was to use technology to help visually impaired students, who struggled with theatrical performances because they could not perceive or control their own facial expressions, limiting their participation and confidence.

Visage Technologies provided its face analysis software, which became the core of the solution. The team used it to build ExpressED, a website that analyzes a user's facial expressions and provides real-time auditory feedback, teaching them how to form specific emotions. This empowered visually impaired individuals to master expressions for the theater, with additional potential to aid in daily communication and boost self-confidence.
