Virtustream partnered with Yum Brands (Pizza Hut) when the rapid rollout of online ordering exposed limits in Pizza Hut’s existing data center. Yum needed a hosting partner that could deliver very high availability, strict security and compliance, fast responsiveness to changes, and room to scale—criteria that led them to select Virtustream after a competitive evaluation.

Virtustream migrated Pizza Hut’s legacy infrastructure (working with SysMicro) into a purpose‑built, highly certified data center with virtualization, blade servers and an MPLS network connecting every restaurant. The move delivered reliable, secure hosting and flexible operations, supporting more than £1m in weekly online orders, an expanded footprint, and plans to consolidate other Yum brands for improved business continuity and further virtualization-driven cost savings.
