A Virtustream Case Study
Veyance Technologies, a $2.1 billion global manufacturer and the exclusive maker of Goodyear Engineered Products, faced a complex legacy IT landscape—3,000-seat SAP, more than 120 disparate applications and many RISC-based systems—just as its hosting contract was expiring. CIO John F. Hill set a bold seven-month deadline to modernize the environment, reduce costs, and enable the company to operate as a unified global enterprise rather than siloed local units.
Working with enterprise cloud provider Virtustream, Veyance migrated to an Intel-powered IaaS virtual private cloud, replatformed and standardized applications and databases, and added SaaS and hybrid-cloud “plant in a box” capabilities. The project finished on time and on budget with no unplanned downtime, cutting infrastructure costs by about 30%, boosting capacity, agility and performance, delivering sub‑hour recovery objectives, and freeing funds to invest in new platforms and talent for ongoing business transformation.
