Egmont UK worked with Virtusales Publishing Solutions to address a growing challenge with managing digital assets. Their files were stored across servers, accessed directly by designers, and became increasingly hard to transfer, back up, and organize as the number and size of assets grew. They also wanted a better way to make content available externally and reduce the time spent duplicating files.

Virtusales Publishing Solutions implemented BiblioDAM, a digital asset management and workflow system, to create a central repository with version control, validation, secure sharing, and de-duplication. The result was faster file preparation for repro, reduced errors and lost files, one terabyte of storage saved, and about £3,500 a year saved in backups alone. Egmont UK also cut transfer times significantly, with some tasks reduced from up to a week to as little as two hours, while improving collaboration and opening up new revenue opportunities from existing content.
