A Virtual Instruments Case Study
Oracle, formerly Pillar Data Systems, needed more load-testing capacity to validate its Axiom application-aware storage product. Its existing environment relied on racks of hardware and a virtual server farm, but performance limits, difficult VM management, and the need for highly granular SMB/NFS testing made it hard to fully stress the system. Virtual Instruments, using Load DynamiX, addressed Oracle’s need for flexible, realistic testing.
Virtual Instruments implemented the Load DynamiX 1G Series to generate high-volume SMB and NFS traffic, simulate production-like client behavior, and provide protocol-level control without VM sprawl. Oracle gained more productive, repeatable testing with real-time results and deeper visibility into individual components, allowing it to test beyond customer demands while using fewer resources and less time.
