A Virtual Instruments Case Study
Hitachi Data Systems needed a way to realistically test the scalability of its storage platforms, including creating up to 30,000 TCP connections per test. Its in-house approach was limited by QA server memory and required 40 clients to run a single test, turning what should have been a straightforward validation into an all-day process. Hitachi selected Virtual Instruments’ Load DynamiX after a vendor evaluation.
Virtual Instruments implemented the Load DynamiX 1G Series to deliver granular, NAS-focused scalability testing with deep protocol support and an easy-to-use interface. As a result, Hitachi reduced test time from a full day to about 10 minutes, enabled repeatable high-connection load tests, and freed its QA team to focus on more strategic work.
