A Virtuagym Case Study
Xercise4Less set out to deliver on its promise of being "the People's Gym"—a brand that means community and shared fitness journeys—after research showed members wanted connection as much as accessibility. The challenge was rolling a new digital platform out across dozens of locations: initial email launches failed to drive usage and the team needed a way to secure local buy-in and consistent adoption.
Xercise4Less partnered with Virtuagym and ran an on-site roadshow to train staff and embed the platform into the member journey (fingerprint entry, challenges, closed communities, centralized content management and required account creation). The results were strong: app downloads reached as high as 90% at top locations, Google Play ratings rose from one to five stars, every class is now booked via Virtuagym, the platform sees ~140,000 weekly visits (about half of members), and the chain is experiencing higher retention, visitor numbers and staff engagement.
