Pacific Beach Training is a single-location San Diego gym of 130+ members offering strength, recovery, functional movement, nutrition and senior fitness; when COVID-19 threatened closures and disrupted in-person services, owner Junior Leoso needed a way to keep members engaged, simplify operations, and enable remote training without overburdening staff. Rapidly communicating outdoor class changes and digitizing workouts and plans were immediate challenges.

By implementing Virtuagym’s branded mobile app, gym management system and integrated webshop, Pacific Beach Training digitized workout and nutrition programming, streamlined onboarding, billing and scheduling, and used community notifications to keep members informed. The move eased administrative load, upskilled trainers, opened new revenue streams, and drove a notable increase in active users—helping the gym retain members and compete with larger operators during the pandemic.
