Why a Global Research University Deployed Virtru Domain-Wide

Global Research University, with nearly 20,000 students, needed a way to secure sensitive communications across a campus that handles everything from admissions and financial transactions to legal and health records. The university first deployed Virtru for a HIPAA email use case, then expanded its need for broader protection as more work moved remote and more sensitive data had to be shared outside campus.

Virtru was rolled out domain-wide with Virtru Data Protection Gateway, Virtru for Google Gmail, Virtru for Google Drive, and Virtru Secure Share to protect email, automate encryption, and support large file transfers. According to the university, Virtru helped secure communication through email and file sharing, improved user adoption because it was easy to use, and became “a game changer” for secure sharing with parents, students, and research partners.
