A Virtru Case Study

Preview of the WealthForge Case Study

WealthForge secures 3.5 billion in alts transactions with Virtru

WealthForge, a financial services broker-dealer and fintech company, faced a significant challenge in complying with SEC Rule 17a-4, which requires the archiving of all business communications. Their existing solution was causing email deliverability issues and failing to properly handle encrypted data, creating a major security and compliance risk. To solve this, they turned to the vendor Virtru for a data protection solution that integrated with their Google Workspace environment.

Virtru implemented a solution using its self-hosted gateway technology and Chrome extension. This allowed WealthForge to maintain end-to-end client-side encryption for sensitive emails while also automatically decrypting a copy for seamless archiving with their third-party provider, Smarsh. The deployment was highly successful, resolving the deliverability problems, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and providing robust data loss prevention. Karl Jankowski, the CISO, praised Virtru for making a complex problem relatively easy to solve and for the exceptional support throughout the process.
