TrueCar Replaces PGP Encryption with Virtru for Easy Data Sharing

TrueCar, an online marketplace for new, used, and certified pre-owned vehicles, needed a simple and secure way to share sensitive information internally and externally. The company had been using PGP Encryption, but its security team found it cumbersome and unsustainable to manage over time, especially when sharing data with dealers and external partners.

TrueCar replaced PGP with Virtru, using Virtru for Google Gmail, Virtru for Google Drive, and Virtru Secure Share to secure email and file sharing in Google Workspace. Virtru made it possible to exchange large files securely, removed setup work for external partners, and reduced friction for business teams and partners; TrueCar also reported saving time and resources, including two hours of encryption setup for every external partner under the old PGP process.
