A Virtru Case Study
The French Red Cross, an independent charity with more than 81,000 members that reunites families separated by conflict and disasters, needed to protect highly sensitive personal data and meet strict data sovereignty and residency requirements while using Google Workspace. To address this, the organization selected Virtru and deployed Virtru’s end-to-end encryption for Google Workspace (with plans to use Virtru Secure Share) to make encryption simple for employees and volunteers across desktop and mobile.
Virtru implemented host-managed keys, Zero Trust protections, and integrated encryption inside Gmail and Google Workspace, shielding data from Google and ensuring full control over the data lifecycle. The solution streamlined secure collaboration across roughly 193 sister organizations and thousands of mobile/BYOD users (about 6,000 corporate smartphones and ~12,000 BYOD devices), delivering the simplicity and efficiency the CIO praised and enabling safer, faster family-reunification workflows while preserving data sovereignty.
