Offset Strategic Services achieves CMMC Level 2 recertification with Virtru

Offset Strategic Services (OSS), a defense contractor specializing in advanced weapon systems, faced the challenge of securely collaborating with external partners who lacked its level of cybersecurity. Operating in Microsoft GCC High was insufficient for sharing sensitive data, including ITAR-controlled information and proprietary data, with entities like academia and other contractors. To close this gap and achieve true enterprise-wide security beyond compliance checkboxes, OSS turned to the vendor Virtru and its products, Virtru for Outlook and Virtru Secure Share.

By implementing Virtru's FedRAMP authorized platform, OSS extended its zero-trust security controls beyond its GCC High environment. The solution enabled secure external collaboration with granular control over files, preventing data exfiltration while allowing necessary access. As a result, Virtru helped OSS fill critical security gaps, successfully integrate the tools into its compliance architecture for an upcoming CMMC Level 2 recertification, and protect its most sensitive data from sophisticated adversaries.
