Lions Services secures CMMC compliance with Virtru’s browser-based Linux support

Lions Services, a non-profit defense manufacturer, faced the challenge of securing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) to meet CMMC compliance requirements after their previous solution, PreVeil, failed. A critical catalyst was their move to a pure-Linux environment, which PreVeil did not support, creating a major operational roadblock. They needed a flexible, FedRAMP-authorized encryption solution and turned to the vendor Virtru for its Secure Share and Private Keystore products.

The solution from Virtru was a browser-based platform that integrated seamlessly with Lions Services' Linux architecture and on-premise Active Directory. This provided effortless, secure file sharing with external vendors and the Department of Defense. The results included streamlined audit log collection, granular control over data with access revocation, and a significantly simplified path to maintaining CMMC compliance, allowing their IT team to focus on their core mission.
