France-Based Global Utilities Provider Depends on Virtru for Added Privacy in the Cloud

Global Utilities Provider, a France-based organization that migrated to G Suite, needed stronger controls to keep its most sensitive data and intellectual property private. The Digital Security team turned to Virtru—Google’s only recommended encryption provider—and rolled out Virtru Data Protection for Gmail (and the Virtru mobile app) across departments to protect data throughout its lifecycle.

Virtru implemented object-level encryption embedded in Gmail with features like access revocation and document watermarking, allowing employees to toggle protection without leaving their inboxes. As a result, the Global Utilities Provider maintained IP privacy, prevented unauthorized access, strengthened collaboration with internal teams and external partners, and achieved GDPR compliance while securing high user adoption and improving its overall security posture.
