Government Supply Chain Ecommerce Expedites Order Processing and Efficiency

Eminent IT was engaged to modernize the Executive Office of the US Government’s supply chain e-commerce, replacing obsolete legacy applications and improving internal and citizen-facing ordering, approval, and tracking processes. To meet strict government technical and security requirements, Eminent IT selected the Virto Commerce e-commerce platform as the vendor solution.

Eminent IT implemented Virto Commerce as the central interface, customizing a theme, approval workflows, and admin tracking modules (financials, order history, division and fiscal reporting), and provided training and documentation. Deployed in a nine‑month Agile rollout (beta to 40 users, then staged to 11 organizations) the Virto Commerce-based system now serves 5,000 users, met ~80% of requirements out-of-the-box, required only ~20% customization, and earned highly positive feedback and measurable efficiency and usability gains.
