Making learning accessible and convenient to students

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) faced the challenge of improving accessibility and convenience for its students at its Health Education Center. It sought to augment its academic curriculum and expand access to its simulation training across five different healthcare schools.

To address this, UTMB piloted an extended reality (XR) solution from Virti. This involved implementing immersive VR simulations, including a patient safety room and a generative AI-powered virtual patient for medical interviews and examinations. The solution from Virti provided students with valuable simulated clinical experience, leading to high demand from both students and faculty. During the pilot phase, Virti's platform successfully trained approximately 1,000 students.
