The customer, Amazon, faced a challenge in scaling its manager onboarding program for its Fulfillment Centers. Traditional classroom training and role-play exercises were difficult to scale and did not provide a realistic, safe space for new managers to practice vital soft skills. To address this, Amazon's L&D team partnered with vendor Virti to implement its immersive VR learning solution.

Virti developed a series of custom, branching scenario-based training simulations for Amazon, including both Virtual Human and 360 video role-playing scenarios. This allowed new managers to practice difficult conversations in a safe, virtual environment. The results were highly positive, with the program improving onboarding by 92%. Furthermore, 95% of learners preferred revisiting the training via a VR headset compared to a laptop.
