Software Solutions Integrated (SSI), a Shelbyville, Illinois–based agribusiness software provider, struggled to keep cloud costs under control as ongoing development and changing business needs made it hard to spot sizing issues, idle resources, and other waste in their AWS environment. Virtana deployed Virtana Optimize to provide full visibility, rightsizing recommendations, idle-resource reports, and automated scheduling; SSI used these insights to shrink oversized EBS volumes and SQL/Windows instances, shut down unused servers, and tighten backup retention. Those actions led to measurable impact—about $67K/year saved in one department, avoidance of an $8–9K monthly EBS charge, $40K+ annual backup savings, and an overall ~12% reduction in monthly AWS spend—driven by Virtana’s reports and recommendations.
