Hamlin Middle School outfits a $48 million STEAM campus with Virco in 5 months

Hamlin Middle School, a new STEAM-focused school in Springfield, Oregon, needed adaptable furnishings for its versatile learning studios and specialized spaces to support its project-based curriculum. The school partnered with Virco and its PlanSCAPE service to design flexible furniture solutions that could easily adapt to various teaching and learning styles while working within the constraints of the building's layout and budget.

Virco implemented a collaborative planning process, creating pilot classrooms for teacher feedback and supplying a mix of multi-height tables, mobile cafeteria seating, and reconfigurable media center furniture. Their solution created seamless, flexible environments throughout the school, from the classrooms to the administrative offices. Virco successfully delivered the project on budget for the $48 million school, outfitting 53 learning areas and specialized rooms with furnishings that support critical and creative thinking.
