The Office of Naval Research needed a better way to train the U.S. Military’s Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) community, which traditionally relied on costly, hard-to-access dome simulators, aircraft flight hours, range time, and live artillery. They partnered with Virbela and Lockheed Martin to create a more accessible, high-quality training experience for dispersed trainees and qualified controllers.

Virbela delivered a portable virtual reality training kit powered by its immersive VR platform, enabling JTACs to access realistic simulations anywhere in the world. The solution accelerated training, improved Marine Corps readiness, expanded simulation availability, and reduced costs as well as the risks associated with live training resources, all without sacrificing training quality.
