Multicultural Producers Expand Their Audiences in Virtual Worlds

Omni Cultural TV Fest, founded by producer Kiki Melendez, needed a modern way to unite multicultural audiences and create an immersive space for its film festival, panels, and creative programming. To help deliver that experience, the event partnered with Virbela and used S.T.R.E.A.M. World, a 3D virtual environment, to host its virtual festival activities.

Virbela provided the platform for the Omni Cultural TV Fest’s panels, screenings, and post-event networking in a dynamic virtual world, including a party in the S.T.R.E.A.M. House of Grooves powered by The Virbela Speakeasy™. The result was a more engaging, culture-driven event that expanded the festival’s reach, promoted diversity and inclusion, and helped place inspiring content in front of new and existing audiences, though no specific numerical metrics were provided.
