Laval Virtual, a nonprofit tech advocacy group in France, needed to pivot its flagship in-person event to an online format while preserving the community-driven, immersive feel of its annual conference. The team wanted a virtual environment that could support events, meetings, workshops, and tours at scale, and that would feel natural for attendees from around the world. It chose Virbela and its virtual world platform to make that shift.

Using Virbela, Laval Virtual created its own private virtual campus, Laval Virtual World, and hosted its annual event online. The result was more than 6,500 attendees from 110 countries, with thousands of participants creating avatars within the first 36 hours. Virbela helped Laval Virtual deliver strong engagement, stability, ease of use, scalability, customization, and a sense of serendipitous interaction that brought back the feeling of its in-person conference.
