Care UK Secures Sensitive Patient Data with VIPRE SafeSend

Care UK, the UK’s largest independent health and social care provider operating more than 300 facilities, needed to better safeguard confidential patient records after finding basic Outlook Exchange tools insufficient to prevent misaddressed emails and incorrect attachments. To strengthen email and data protection across its organisation, Care UK deployed VIPRE SafeSend, an Outlook add-in, for 3,500 users.

VIPRE implemented SafeSend’s DLP-enabled controls to require recipient confirmation, force attachment review, warn on non-approved domains, and scan email content/attachments (including custom regex rules) to detect sensitive data. Since deployment, VIPRE’s SafeSend has given Care UK audit logs for tracking, helped spot phishing attempts, delivered “no issues since implementing SafeSend,” and materially strengthened the organisation’s compliance and risk posture.
