Splendid Spoon, a New York–based wellness company delivering ready-to-eat, plant-based, gluten-free meals nationwide, was running on the generic subscription platform Cratejoy but needed more personalized user experiences and better delivery automation. They engaged Vinta Software to build a custom subscription platform supporting recurring and prepaid plans and to enable per-week meal selection and other customer-specific features.

Vinta Software built a Django-based custom platform with a Bootstrap 4/SASS front end, integrated Stripe for payments and ShipStation for shipping, and implemented Google Analytics/Ecommerce tracking. Vinta Software migrated all customers from Cratejoy with less than a couple of hours of downtime, delivered seamless user-facing customization, wrote 500+ test cases achieving ~90% coverage, and provided a time-freezing test tool—resulting in reduced migration risk, improved product conversion, and optimized delivery processes.
