Case Study: Mind Candy achieves global scale and improved subscription retention with Vindicia CashBox

A Vindicia Case Study

Preview of the Mind Candy Case Study

Moshi Monsters Conquers the World

Mind Candy, the UK developer behind the global kids’ virtual world Moshi Monsters, faced rapid growth (50 million users) that exposed limitations in its existing payment gateways (ClickandBuy and PayPal Payflow Pro). Reconciliation was manual and engineering-intensive, and the company needed a scalable billing partner able to support a freemium model with subscriptions and one‑time payments, handle global currencies and taxes, and reduce PCI compliance risk—so Mind Candy selected Vindicia and its Vindicia CashBox solution.

Vindicia implemented CashBox, a SaaS billing, CRM and reporting platform with global transaction support, built‑in tax handling, PCI Level 1 compliance, and Advanced Payment Retry Logic. After going live in December 2010, CashBox supported rapid growth (about 2M new players per month), helped reduce transaction failures and increase monthly retention (driving measurable top‑line uplift), enabled multi‑currency billing and on‑demand reporting, and contributed to processing tens of millions of transactions (Vindicia reported 90M+ transactions and $2.5B processed in 2011) with 99.99%+ uptime.
