Tello Films, founded by Christin Baker, is the first network dedicated to lesbian and queer women’s stories. As the company grew from a web-only subscription service, it hit the limits of its current setup and needed a more affordable way to launch apps and expand distribution; app development costs were a major barrier. With Vimeo, Tello Films was able to deliver content on any device, reach subscribers directly, and avoid the expense of building separate apps and accounts from scratch. The platform also enabled a seamless path to add rental and purchase options for new films on the same system. Tello Films reported strong recognition for its original content, including Emmy nominations, and Vimeo helped make its multi-format release strategy possible.
