Pickathon, the independent Portland music-and-arts festival, needed to grow awareness, audience, and revenue without losing the festival’s intimate feel. To do that they partnered with Vimeo’s Livestream platform (using tools like Audience Boost and VOD/distribution services) to livestream performances and retain control and ownership of their content.

With Vimeo, Pickathon scaled a 460-person video operation and saw livestream viewership jump from 11,000 in 2015 to 200,000 in 2016 (60% U.S., 40% international), surpassing their 2016 goal by roughly 2.5×. Vimeo’s infrastructure and support allowed them to monetize via pre-roll and sponsorships, publish 4–5 videos weekly after the festival, protect ticket sales, and turn live assets into ongoing revenue and global audience growth.
