How the Eagles Win with Live Video

The Philadelphia Eagles turned to Vimeo to solve a growing digital challenge: how to deliver high-quality, TV-caliber live and on-demand OTT coverage — from draft-day feeds and exclusive player interviews to behind-the-scenes studio content — to a global, mobile-first fanbase without charging for access. The team needed a reliable platform that could handle complex production workflows, embed streams across channels, support instant archiving, and provide analytics so they could match broadcast quality while scaling distribution.

Vimeo’s Livestream platform, CDN and analytics gave the Eagles the technical foundation to focus on content while Vimeo handled delivery, trimming, unique event links, instant VOD and performance data. The result: steady digital audience growth, millions of views and thousands of comments, over two million unique viewers and 13.3 million minutes watched since 2015, and a 2016 draft weekend peak of 112K viewers with an average view time of 13+ minutes (85–90% non-local). Vimeo’s tools also improved monetization opportunities and made repackaging live content across social channels easier for the Eagles.
