New York Magazine partnered with Vimeo to livestream the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, aiming to turn a sold‑out, capacity‑limited society event into a global, real‑time experience. The outdoor venue at Liberty State Park presented major technical obstacles — no Wi‑Fi, spotty cell service and a sprawling site — so New York needed a turnkey streaming solution to capture the match, fashion and behind‑the‑scenes content.
Vimeo supplied its Livestream platform and production team, building infrastructure from scratch (radio‑frequency cameras, cabling across the grounds and a satellite uplink to Vimeo’s Brooklyn facility) and managing the broadcast end‑to‑end while New York drove tune‑in through its brand network and a Minibar partnership. The result was New York’s largest Polo Classic audience to date — over 50,000 viewers worldwide — with national viewing parties (including a 400‑person event in NYC) and a seamless, professionally executed live experience powered by Vimeo.
