Aspen Australia achieves global medicines traceability in 10 export markets with Vimachem

Aspen Australia, a major pharmaceutical company, faced the challenge of meeting complex international regulatory requirements, specifically the EU's Falsified Medicines Directive, which mandated product serialization to combat counterfeiting. To achieve global medicines traceability, they partnered with vendor Vimachem to implement a serialization solution.

Vimachem implemented its Serialization Site Manager (SSM), a Level 3 system that integrated seamlessly with Aspen's other equipment and software. The solution, which went live in July 2020, successfully enabled Aspen to supply fully compliant serialized products to ten different export markets using GS1 standards. The implementation by Vimachem effectively addressed the challenge of counterfeit medications and provided Aspen with a best-of-breed, compliant traceability system.
