Willmott Dixon, a long-established UK contractor, was appointed to deliver the National College for High Speed Rail — a 15‑month, £21.2m project — but faced major challenges from poor software interoperability, limited supply‑chain visibility, heavy paper‑based administration and the need to work to BIM Level 2 standards across many partners.

To address this they rolled out Viewpoint For Projects as a single common data environment and Field View for real‑time tablet-based site management. The change centralized documents and revisions, improved supply‑chain integration, saved up to five hours per person per week, reduced admin and costs, enabled real‑time site diaries and secure access control, resolved hundreds of tasks/snags and delivered the project snag‑free two days ahead of handover.
