Case Study: Yates Construction achieves streamlined project collaboration and BIM-enabled document control with Viewpoint for Projects

A Viewpoint Case Study

Preview of the Yates Construction Case Study

VFP and Yates Aimed at Satisfying the Needs of All Stakeholders for Project Data in Electronic Format

Yates Construction is a family-owned general contractor with 30 locations, roughly 12,000 employees worldwide, and more than 50 years in business (ranked #25 on ENR’s Top 400). Seeking to improve collaboration, transparency, and access to project data for owners, architects, subs and other stakeholders, Yates evaluated tools to reduce disputes, speed BIM workflows, and provide consistent, electronic project records.

Yates implemented Viewpoint for Projects (VFP), a web-based collaboration platform that centralizes models, drawings (with revision control), specs, RFIs, submittals, daily reporting and more, and provides mobile access, an online viewer for 300+ file types, BIM Manager and COBie imports. The result: faster deployments, consistent workflows and weekly model updates, greater owner visibility, fewer outstanding items and disputes, and broad adoption across project teams—architects and subcontractors report easier collaboration and reliable access to current project data.
