A Viewpoint Case Study
The University of Aberdeen undertook a major campus expansion that included a new 10‑story library designed by Schmidt Hammer Lassen and a relocated Rowett Research Institute following a merger. The projects demanded tight coordination to create climate‑sensitive spaces for more than 200,000 rare books and 4,000 archive collections, integrate a glazed curtain‑wall and multi‑level atrium, and bring research facilities together on the Foresterhill site.
To manage that complexity the university relied on Viewpoint For Project Collaboration to centralize communication, document control and coordination among architects, contractors and stakeholders. The platform supported the delivery of the new library—serving nearly 14,000 students and showcasing the special collections—and the Rowett Institute relocation by streamlining collaboration across design and construction.
