Hatch Mott MacDonald acted as the Owner’s Engineer on the $1B Coast Meridian Overpass design‑build in Port Coquitlam, delivering preliminary and detailed structural, civil, electrical, environmental and geotechnical design for a multi‑span elevated bridge with traffic and bicycle lanes and sidewalks. Coordinating a 43‑month program with 42 organizations and 144 users created a complex information and communication challenge that required tighter control of design and construction processes.

HMM implemented Viewpoint For Projects as an integrated collaboration platform to manage design discussions, documents, workflows and communications, with tasks assigned to specific working groups and subcontractors. The solution streamlined coordination across stakeholders, gave HMM clear control of the program of works through design and build phases, and supported efficient delivery of the project.
